From the pictures in the story, those look really nice. Hopefully they can spur further development downtown, both for residential and commercial businesses.

Still need that grocery store closer to downtown...

The Elks are still meeting, just in a different space. They no longer had the money to maintain the building properly so they sold it.

Hopefully the building to the west of this one is next for redevelopment. Whatever they build where the Flats on 4th are currently would be a great opportunity to put a grocery store on the first floor. Should be sufficient space and it’ll be very convenient for Marshall students.

I agree and I hope the new owners of the Flats considers that type of plan and just doesn't build another hotel.

This has the potential to help increase the software/tech jobs in the area, as HADCO etc have been trying to do:

Driving past the Big Sandy Arena this morning, it appears they may be painting the exterior. Looks like it’s going to be different shades of a light blue. It’s an improvement already.
