The $3 million in winnings from the America's Best Communities competition will go to several economic and neighborhood development plans.
The ABC winnings committed $86,000 to set up the city to welcome a high-speed broadband provider. Williams announced this effort has resulted in AT&T committing that Huntington will be the first city in West Virginia to deploy 5G, pending the passage of state legislation that would allow for it.
In the Highlawn area, the ABC winnings provided $500,000 of $800,000 needed to acquire eight acres of the Flint Pigments property on the north side of 5th Avenue where Marshall University plans to build a new baseball stadium.

If we're talking Craft Beer in WV, you have to include Fayette County.

I'd imagine this is just a starting point with plans to expand if successful enough.

Highly successful breweries, with tap rooms, are located all over the state. Bridge Brew Works in Fayette County is one of the oldest, but Greenbrier Valley has come on quite strong, along with breweries in Thomas and Morgantown also doing very well in producing enough quality beer to attract people to their products and also to their facilities. (I know I left some out.)
I hope they expand the scope of their research.
