Big Sandy Arena listed among the top 200 venues in the world for ticket sales. It was the only venue in WV to make that particular list. The Clay Center in Charleston did make the list of top 200 theaters in the world for ticket sales and was also the only theater in the state to make the list.

Just as a reminder, Rails and Ales is coming up next weekend! They plan to 250 different Craft Beers and Ciders from nearly 80 different breweries.

Quote:
The Rails & Ales Festival, held annually in Huntington, is West Virginiaís premier craft beer festival. In its fifth year, the Festival takes place on the banks of the Ohio River in downtown Huntington and features live entertainment, Huntingtonís best cuisine, artisan vendors and, most importantly, BEER. We are serious about bringing better beer to the state of WV and offer a top-notch selection of craft beers hand-picked for your sampling pleasure, including a number of rare and specialty beers. The festival has sold out for four consecutive years. This year, in an effort to keep crowds small and lines short, the festival expands to host two sessions. Donít miss out!

Quote:
"It is by far the biggest beer festival in West Virginia and we are still under expansion," McKay said. "I don't know that we will expand the amount of beer too much but we will be more choosy."

McKay said that like last year he will push for more export/international beers as last year's bevy of Belgium beers were very popular. Also, McKay said they will be trying to work with the state to allow for a temporary license to allow brewers who are not in the state to come to the festival. He said that is something that the neighboring state of Kentucky allows.

Tickets (for the afternoon session only) are still available to the largest-ever congregation of West Virginia breweries, which will be found at the Rails & Ales craft beer festival on August 12 in Huntington.

Nineteen West Virginia breweries will send their beer to Huntington, and most will also send brewery ambassadors to tell you all about their products. What's more, a super line-up of national and international brands will be there too.

Nowhere else in this universe will you find so many WV beers in one place. Talk about Almost Heaven. This incredible assemblage is drawing interest from near and far, as advance ticket sales show beer fans coming from Louisville, Lexington, Columbus, Pennsylvania, and the Mid- and Upper-Ohio Valley areas in addition to the usual core from Charleston and the Tri-State region.

Here's a nice little article about one of the guys helping to organize HMAF this year. Sounds like it's going to be a lot bigger this year with 8 days of events!
