Have seen a ton of people around the Big Sandy Arena. Was there something going on? Maybe graduation?

Yes, I believe there were some graduations held this past weekend and the last week too.

Like Aeros said, there have been several graduations as of late. There have been some concerts mixed in as well though.

TriCon is this weekend! It's a great time if you like comic books and enjoy the superhero movies out now. In it's third year now, it is the most attended show of any kind in WV per the organizers.

Now this is truly something! No one ever expected this event to grow so quickly. I wonder if they will double tickets for next year as well? If not, then I could certainly see 2000-2500 tickets being a reasonable mark.

If it continues to grow, this event will eventually take over downtown for an entire day.

Word about this event has spread like wildfire. This is really turning into a big event for downtown, i just hope they increase the amount of space to keep everyone comfortable, and the lines aren't too long.

Similar events in Charleston have grown too congested, like the Wine and Jazz and Blues & Brews over on the UC lawn. Hopefully the planners in Huntington are able to keep this large of a crowd under control and safe.

The partnered talent agency mentioned in the article represents some big name comedians. I hope that the hotel can bring in some of the marquee names a few times a year.
