Roughly from 8th Ave to 13th Ave and from 16th Street to 7th Street West. The closer to the Park the more expensive and the closer to 16th street and the railroad tracks, typically the cheaper. If you find specific properties, you can post about them here and we'll give you some input.

ok I'll keep that area in mind. It will be 6 months to a year before I'm ready to actually look for reals and talk to realtor, right now i get to laugh at the ones labeled handy man special (needs slight repairs) and the walk through video has rooms full of rotting mattresses and a fallen in ceiling

How is the area around 4th Ave and 30th street?

Looking at the map there is every thing I need to survive within my walking distance, I can get breakfast at Biscuit world, lunch at dolor general, my heart meds at CVS, guns and cheap movies at the pawn shop and to go with the cheap DVD my Friday night pizza at Little Caesar's. Then when I eat to much pizza there is a medical center and failing that two funeral homes

Altizer can be a bit of a hit and miss depending on the area. There are some nice areas there but overall it tends to be a bit more run down. There is a nice park there though and you are located on the outskirts of Huntington and not far from Barboursville. It isn't really close to much in terms of walkability though if that matters for you.

What about the area between Ritter Park and Spring Hill Cemetery within a few blocks north and south of 8th avenue is that high enough to be safe from the flooding
