It's safe from flooding but crime wise is one of the worst areas in town. It is improving and is likely to get a little better once the new development planned for the current public housing goes in.

How is the area west of Spring-Hill Cemetery along Norway Ave, that seems to have cheap houses in better condition and on a major bus route (I wont be able to drive forever)

There are some nice houses in that area but you have to be careful. Houses to the south west of the cemetery tend to be nice but north west, you run into the bad part of town.

Ok Retirement came in, now I have got to get a new Van, par down my stuff and finish some medical things then wait for the snow to go away maybe be there in 6 months. In 12 months I get a back payment that will be a house down payment.

I hope there is some sweet deals like this in a year

That house is almost falling in on itself. I wouldn't take it if it was free. It'll take almost 100,000 dollars to fix that to the point it would pass code inspections and not be condemned anymore.

The houses on the southern side of Norway tend to be a little nicer than the houses on the northern side. For the most part, that's a nicer area. Just stay away from the area around Marcum Terrace. That area has a tendency to have more crime. If you have questions about a specific house, send me a link and I'll give you more specifics if I can.

That's a pretty nice area overall. Convenient to hospitals, downtown and quick access to I-64. Just avoid the area close to Marcum Terrace. If you have questions about a specific house, just send me a message.

Good to know, I was looking at that area and other areas around cemetery hill as they are out of the flood zone and near streets with bus service. A little early to take a serious look at any specific house as I wont be there untill June or July
