I know Chuck's column is just that, a column, but it would've been nice to include some details of what will be part of these upgrades to the Route 2 field. Even a brief mention would've been better than no information.

Will we see lights installed? Will running water be installed so that there can be brick and mortar bathrooms and a functional concession stand? Will the scoreboard fully work? Will the PA speakers be upgraded so the announcer doesn't sound like Charlie Brown's teacher? We're also suppose to have a very wet winter. What happens if the field is deemed unplayable come the middle of March when the first CUSA series is scheduled to be played?

And what about parking? If the games are held during the same time as a YMCA youth soccer weekend, there won't be enough parking.

Yesterday, the Thundering Herd beat Old Dominion in basketball. Twice. In the same day. The men won by a nice 3-point shot right at the end of the game in Norfolk, while the women beat the lady Monarchs at the Cam.

I wonder how often that sort of thing happens.

This weekend's wins were one point margins each with the men and women both defeating Charlotte.

Maybe the Herd is starting something!

The 2019 Football Schedule is out.

https://herdzone.com/news/2019/1/10/...LiQ2PNyBWVAJPY

It is important to note that all games are subject to date changes and some dates are expected to move in the coming weeks in order accommodate national broadcast opportunities.

A schedule of those games will be released at a later date.

2019 Schedule
Aug. 31 VMI
Sept. 7 at Boise State
Sept. 14 OHIO
Sept. 21 Bye
Sept. 28 CINCINNATI
Oct. 5 at Middle Tennessee*
Oct. 12 OLD DOMINION*
Oct. 19 at Florida Atlantic*
Oct. 26 WKU*
Nov. 2 at Rice*
Nov. 9 Bye
Nov. 16 LOUISIANA TECH*
Nov. 23 at Charlotte*
Nov. 30 FIU*
*Conference USA game

The 2019 Conference USA Championship Game is scheduled for December 7.

The article did not say which game is Homecoming. I am assuming that the Louisiana Tech game will be Blackout Day.

Looking forward to see how they do against Boise and Cincy. Hopefully Green having a year under his belt will make a big difference in his performance on the field. He needs a new target to step up to replace Brady.

My best guess is that the ODU game on October 12th will be homecoming. The weather should still be nice and mild, if not still a little warm.

It's my understand that fans should expect to see some games moved to weekday nights for the 2019 season. And not just Marshall but across all of CUSA.
