Thought this was neat and would share. The Huntington area will be hosting four separate youth sports tournaments next year that are on a national/multi-state level. They will be hosting the Tournament of Champions in Huntington for the 9-10 year old all-stars which is like the World Series for that age group. The fields that are hosting this tournament are brand new and at the west end of Ritter Park just down from the Memorial Arch. They are super nice fields.

Then Ceredo and Kenova are hosting the Southern Region Finals for the 11-12 year old little league baseball and softball All-Stars. The winner of this goes on to the Little League World Series for baseball and softball. For baseball, this has been traditionally played in St. Petersburg, FL and is televised on ESPN. Not sure about softball.

Then Barboursville and Huntington are hosting the U.S. Youth Region 1 Soccer Tournament both in 2009 and 2010. It's rare that you see one such tournament in an area in WV, but to have four in one year in the same area, pretty cool. For soccer, it's the first time this event has ever been in WV.
