Hello all,

I am new to the area and looking for a touchless/no-touch car wash in the Huntington/Barboursville area. I am not used to the snow but the salt and/or sand (not entirely sure) they put on the road for the snow could cause rust in the long term not to mention that it makes the car dirty.

I have been looking for a carwash that also washes under the car, preferably the no touch kind. I saw a car wash by the Marathon Gas Station on 16th, near the exit from I64, and another on the BP gas station next to the school. but I don't know if they are touchless and/or washes under the car.

I would appreciate if anyone could recommend a good touchless carwash that also washes under the car (and how much it cost if possible).

Thanks in advance !

The car washes you mentioned do go under the car a little bit but I've never really payed attention to how much. There are also car washes at 4th Ave near 1st St, on Route 60 just down from Wal-Mart and then in Barboursville behind the Rite-Aid and then across from the new Wal-Greens. Those are all your typical automatic, run of the mill car washes.

When we want a good car wash, my wife usually takes the car to the University car wash in Huntington on 3rd Ave, across from the stadium. It uses the brushes and I'm not sure how much it sprays under the car, but they do a great job there. They even hand dry the car as part of the price.

The problem is, right now most of the car washes will be closed until the temps go back above freezing which will be a few more days. Hope this helps.

Tim

I remember seeing University car wash, I might give them a try. Having someone to hand dry the car is a good sign that they actually care. Most automated places never checked their brushes and when they're old it will scratch your car.

I was driving by route 60 and saw another car wash, one is a set of self service (too cold to do it manually right now) and another seems to say touchless car wash. I'm not sure if it's even working, hehehe.

Yeah, that's the one I was talking about down from Wal-Mart. It's actually only about 2 years old and seems prettty nice. It may just be closed right now due to the freezing temps.

I'd definately recommend checking out University Car Wash though.
