"HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) — A Huntington middle school has won a national fitness contest.

Enslow Middle School beat out 60,000 other schools in an online competition that promotes improvements in students' eating habits and increased exercise.

The "Fuel Up to Play 60" program is sponsored by the National Football League and the National Dairy Council.

Students earned points for at least an hour of daily physical activity and healthy food choices such as whole-grain wheat, milk, fruits and vegetables

NEW INFO: Enslow Middle School Wins National Fitness Contest

I'm sure changes from the Food Revolution probably helped as well. Congrats to the kids and teachers who worked so hard to win this award.

Well, after all the discussion on this forum, I would take this as great news. As it turns out, Fiddlehead is just about to start a fitness "bootcamp" to lower my cholesterol and girth through the wonders of fruits, vegetables, and exercise over the next seven weeks. I am what I ate (and drank) over the last couple decades, and eager to get it right for once. So, I am excited to hear anyone taking better care of their health, especially our young people.

If Jamie Oliver's show precipitated this, or at least played a part, great. Even better if the kids can keep it up.
