There are a good many houses available for rent right now. Check the classifieds of
Home - Decaturdaily.com (news stories are only for subscribers, but the classifieds are free to access), or
ValleyMLS.com and click on "Property Search." Click on "Rentals," and specifiy Morgan County. Or Lawrence County, which is right there next to Trinity. Trinity is actually in Morgan County, but many of the mailing addresses in east Lawrence County are Trinity. You can ask questions about the area in the Huntsville forum...although there are only a handful of people on City-Data who are in Decatur and environs.

Lot of houses and land in Lawrence County. From Moulton to Decatur's a really easy commute too, but you could live Caddo, Hillsboro, or Courtland for that matter.
