Default Home Inspector Recommendation in Huntsville/Madison

I just signed a contract for a house in Madison and I need a recommendation for a very thorough Home Inspection company. I really want someone who is very stringent and unbiased.
Thanks in Advance!!!

Jade Home Inspection, 256-536-5233, did a prompt, thorough, and professional pre-listing inspection for us when we were selling my father's home. They picked up on all the deficiencies that I was aware of plus several which I was clueless on. That said, and as you are doubtless already aware, almost all home inspectors are dependent upon repeat business from real estate brokers and that relationship can perhaps sometimes effect the professionalism with which they conduct their inspection. A home warranty in addition to an inspection is always a good idea in my opinion.

Milke Dove was ours 256-533-4776 . He did a great job and sent us our inspection via e-mail probably within 2 hours. Do you a name for Radon testing too?

Eddie, from Safeguard Home Inspections. He does most of my inspections for my buyers and is wonderful! He is a full time Fire Fighter in Madison as well, so he tends to look for ANY and all issues. Buyers love him, sellers, not so much
I've used him 5 times in the last 2 months and he was the best! He emails the report back, typically same day.

We have used Bill Loden on two homes in the past few years. Last time we used him, he was on the only certified home inspector in the county. Here is his web-site: Insight Home Inspection. He can even do thermal imaging now for insulation leaks and water damage - pretty cool stuff!

I used Matt @ England Home Inspections (256-429-8622) for my inspection when I bought my house in Huntsville. He was licensed, insured, the whole works. He even found out that my ventless gas insert was putting out Carbon Monoxide. He's been doing it a long time and was really nice. I really liked his attention to safety issues and the major issues. The last one worried me to death over small things that really didn't matter much. Matt told me what was important and what was not so much. I would recommend him.

Bill Loden the only certified inspector in the county? That's never been the case. Mike Dove and Bill Payne were two of the first in the state and they are still in Madison county. Jim England, Matt England's father and also an inspector, was also one of the first in the state. These guys have been around since the 80's.

Home inspectors are licensed by the Alabama Building commission not ASHI. The link to the building commission where I found Mr. England is Inspector Search . Just enter the info and boom, you get them all. ASHI is just one of many organizations that gives certifications but licensing is through the state.
