if you want liquor, the ABC stores will be closed on Sunday......but you can still buy liquor at the liquor stores every day of the week.....which is weird b/c most states have one or the other, not both.

Unlike Philly, you can get your wine and beer at the grocery store (any day of the week, or time of day or night).

While I was driving to Decatur l few weeks ago on 565, as I passed under I-65, the first gas station on the left, I could not buy beer on Sunday, but I could by a bottle of wine?

Sure you can. But why buy alcohol when you can buy moonshine? It's easy to find out who sells the stuff, just drive around on Sunday morning and find a house that has many cars park in front. If they're not in church on Sunday morning, they're selling moonshines!

Yes, you can buy if you are above the age of 21. But you cannot sell unless you have an ABC license. ABC stores are closed on Sunday though.

It depends on the local laws. Athens does not allow Sunday sales. I think Decatur just began allowing Sunday sales. I think u can buy in hsv after 12:00.

You can't buy or sell anytime in limestone county except for Athens city and maybe any other towns that are wet.

I answered your question as it pertained to the City of Huntsville. But as you can see, every county and/or municipality is different. Alcohol laws in this state are primarily done at local level.

You could buy wine but not beer?
That makes no sense. Unlike some other states, in Alabama, alcohol sales are all or nothing. You can buy anything alcoholic, or nothing.
I could swear the Sixth Avenue state store in Decatur is open on Sunday. I'll check that out and report back.

Have you ever thought that maybe you could buy enough on Saturday to get you through Sunday?
