Last night I went to the Green Street Market downtown. Fun. Fairly good variety of food for this early in the season. There was a band playing and I left determined to return. I believe it is open every Thursday throughout the summer.

Bridgestreet had a farmers market last yr, but not sure what they carry and/or if it's worth it.

I also have been visiting the Green Street Market on Thursday afternoons. I also love it. The mellons, beans, peaches, and nectarines I have purchased have been excellent. But, last week I bought some ear corn. My mistake was buying from a stall that had corn on display, but filled your order from the back of their truck. I should have pulled the shuck down and looked at the ears of corn myself. When I got home, most of the corn was ruined, rotten all the way down. I expect corn worms in organic, but not rotten corn. I will not purchase corn again without checking it first.

I read in the Huntsville Times that there's also a market at Latham United Methodist Church in south Huntsville near Weatherly Road.

There is also a growing market on Tuesdays from 11-2 at the NASA complex on Redstone Arsenal, if you have access. Turn onto S. Marshall from Rideout Road and the farmers set up behind building 4201 (behind the newest building under construction). Spradlin Farms from Cullman and London's homemade breads have started selling. There are supposed to be adding farmers every week throughout the season. Spradlin's has strawberries, farm fresh ice creams, homemade salsas, and homemade breads.

Hey folks - don't forget the "pick your own" berry farms around here - excellent strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries that taste much better than the ones we've endured through the winter.
