HCS buses - Do your children ride? (transporting, home)

I just read an article on AL.com about HCS staggering school times to cut the number of buses being leashed by HCS. This, of course, is a cost cutting measure and common in many systems across the nation.

The article discussed behavior problems on buses and even detailed one bus with 238 discipline referrals last school year. So, how many families out there put their children on HCS buses each day? Do your children come home and talk about problems on the bus? Are your children afraid of riding the bus? Are you afraid for your children to ride the bus and transport them yourselves?

My children don't ride the bus and I don't plan for them to do so, because I worry about their safety both in the bullying sense and the sense of not thinking buses are the safest mode of transportation. However, I'm also a stay at home mother and transporting my children to their various schools is not a problem for me as it may be for working parents who have no choice but to put their children on a bus.
