I've been in HSV since Sunday and I'm probably the only person in history who will have written this but here goes:
"It hasn't been hot or humid enough in July."
It's been pretty dry and not that hot, cooling off at night, clear sunny days. I wanted it to be really bad - experience the worst. Instead it's been like Southern California, really. I feel like I'm getting cheated.
Tonight we had dinner outdoors on the patio at the Mezza Luna on Carl T Jones. Not one mosquito; perfect comfortable breeze. What's going on?

We've been enjoying these lovely days--should have been here last week And I have a few things I don't like about AL--
FIREANTS & other insects that sting through the day/night--today I had to call paramedics and do the epi thing due to bug sting--at the pool! Argh -I know it could happen where I came from--but there seems to be a lot more species of spiders etc here that could seriously impede my ability to hang in the outdoors--
But I can say that despite the whole geez I am sitting here with a swollen arm--that the paramedics were AWESOME as was the doctor/urgent care follow up--

The problem is his skin is dehydrated from living in Co.. it is just soaking in the humidity. Just wait until he has been here a while
Glad you finally made it here Charles. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Seems like there are a lot of streets that change names. Here's five quick minutes worth of searching using Google Maps. Most of these are major streets. This is amazing. What the funk is up?
James Record/Martin
Four Mile Post/Cecil Ashburn/Sutton/Old Highway 431
Caldwell/Miller
Wall Triana/Sullivan
Portal/Mill
Pratt/University
Whitesburg/Madison
Jordan/Patton
Jan Davis/Diamond

Sparkman/Lee Highway
Dan Tibbs/Stringfield
Blake Bottom/Mt. Zion
Brock/Brownsboro/Maysville
Plummer/Mastin Lake

Scenario 1: Street is named A in Huntsville and B outside of Huntsville. Over the years, Huntsville grows, and the streets are connected. But people have already established addresses for homes, businesses etc. Too expensive and confusing to change = sections of the street retain their old names. Example: Wall Triana/Sullivan. Example: Johnson/Airport/Carl T Jones/Bailey Cove
Scenario 2: Local politician/sports hero/pioneer dies and goes...wherever. Section of street is renamed for deceased politician. Example: Jan Davis/Diamond (except Jan is still kickin'.)
Scenario 3: City Road has existed for years. Redstone Arsenal establishes a road that looks like an extension of City Road, but it is on the arsenal, which is restricted access, and the road is paid for and maintained by the arsenal instead of the city. Voila: Jordan/Patton.
Just a few examples.
