Things I dont like.
I hate the constant Commercials from the local churches (Cross point) trying to drum up business. If they can afford TV commercials, why are they advertising trying to target new tithe paying members? Also why are Churches like Cross Point and Ashbury tax exempt when they can advertise like a business?

If you can't beat them, join them.
In fact, I'm starting my new virtual church, "Church of the Web"
Here's the deal, if you send me $5, I guarantee you will go to heaven.

Many snakes can--shoot for all I know, the all can--they are usually after eggs or chicks in birds' nests or young squirrels.
The ones down here that I've seen do it are rat snakes, racers, copperheads (ok, I didn't see a copperhead climb a tree, but I did find one in my tree stand one dark a.m....better than coffee to help ya wake up Maybe someone threw him up there, but I'm guessing he climbed.) cottonmouths, king snakes.
This is a king snake...

This picture is enough to make me move. If I ever see that in my yard, I am gone...

I seemed to have jinxed myself with this post when I talked about snakes.
I was cleaning out the garage this evening and had a large snake IN MY GARAGE coming at me quickly. After I advanced to the rear at roughly light-speed, and got the best snake-fighting equipment known to man (a hoe) and went back in after him, I got to see him disappear BEHIND THE WALL IN MY GARAGE! (Maybe I'll hurry and actually get the floor molding down now.) I THINK it was either a ratsnake or a racer, he was somewhere between 4-5 feet, or maybe 40-50 feet...my memory's getting fuzzy now. That sucker is now somewhere, anywhere in my garage, or worse, the apartment or office I have above it.
So now, I'm picturing him dropping on me from a light fixture, leaping out at me as I open a cupboard, popping up in my desk drawer, etc.
I just ordered a couple of snake traps (cardboard boxes with glue traps inside.)...maybe they'll catch him. I sure hope someone will tell me that those things sure work great!
I know someone will tell me snakes are good for rodent control, that I should leave him alone, etc. If you feel that way, please let me know. When I catch him, I'll come over and turn him loose in your house for you!
I figured I probably ought to tell the wife and kids about it...I don't really want to take my wife to the hospital with the heart attack she'd have after finding it in the washing machine tub. My girls just said "Cool!" My PETA-potential daughter's first words were "Don't kill it!"
So, no more going into the garage without turning on the lights; no more moving boxes, tires, etc., without looking first My only comfort is that it isn't an attached garage...

Wow, I'm not too scared of snakes, but I do NOT like spiders.
Anyhow, what's the crime like in Huntsville? I am considering UAH as one of my choices.

Thanks for sharing! All this snake talk has made me paranoid, and I was just wondering if one could get in my garage. I have been out there cleaning up and doing laundry all weekend. While doing laundry, I was fortunate enough to be bitten by a spider. Ah, the joys of living in this area...

The crime's so bad we're talking about spiders and snakes and humidity...
Check out the City-Data Huntsville page. Do a search on this specific forum...there's lots of posts about it.
We're like most towns of this size...there's some areas that have higher instances than others.
I've a daughter at UAH...she's never had a problem. I've been around Huntsville off-and-on for 30 years and never had a real problem...never been robbed, burgled, assaulted.
