Castle doctrine does NOT extend to protecting property from theft. You cannot shoot someone for stealing your car or pumpkins or anything else. Alabama law is not only specific, it has the over-riding concept that in any dispute you must attempt to DE-escalate responses and attempt to be peaceable. If you consider it for a while, it makes perfect sense. Life trumps property, even if the life is a low-life.

Did not say that it did... just presumed that that was the bill the previous poster was referring to. Haven't read it through myself.
