In the Central Business District a building is limited to 10 stories or 150 feet. There has been discussion over the years to increase that but nothing ever came of it. Note the SpringHill Suites hotel is only 6 stories high.

Back in 2008 the construction of SpringHill Suites by Marriott was supposed to be followed by a Courtyard by Marriott. The onset of the recession killed the second hotel. The announcement of new second hotel being a AC Hotels by Marriott is interesting. This would make it one of the first hotel of this name in the United States.

One thing I did not remember hearing is a timeline for the new development. Unless their is a committed timeline then there is no guarantee of anything.

The word is they would like for the hotel to be finished next year, no height limits in this part of downtown.
Time to get busy and build!

No more Clinton exit on the east side? Lame.

No more Clinton entrance to the parkway on the east side? Woot.

I'm not digging the hotel concept. Looks ugly if you ask me.
