Which is exactly why they want the road done!

And are waiting till after Christmas.

I have lived here my entire life (25yrs)

They have needed to do this for almost as long.

They also need to reopen the road that use to jut off of Slaughter to OMP,

In addition they need a turning lane from OMP to Slaughter, they cleared all that land YEARS ago and never put the lane in.

With those improvements AND OMP widening to Research that intersection will be great for a very long time.

Lastly, this kind of sucks because I am planning on moving to Skyline Acres so I can have easy access to Research, literally the day I get back from viewing the house, I read this "great" news. haha

At least I have some more time before they start on Zierdt, which I currently live off of...

Oh my friend.

As you are driving down Slaughter just before you go down the hill, look the the right.

You can just barely tell, but there is a break in the trees and it use to pop out on OMP.

There was an elderly couple who had a fruit/vegetable stand, I was VERY young, but still remember when the old man passed away, his wife shut down shortly after.

I also remember the OLD gas station that use to be where the BP is now.

But anyway, I looked into the issue, Madison Academy allegedly owns the land and they want LOTS of money for the right turn lane, even though it's their traffic that makes it so awful most days. I ought to know I went there briefly and every day that line was ridiculous!

I just hope they fix the whole intersection and not just make a new road after the bottle neck, the whole area needs work to flow properly.

Ah yes, now I remember. I also remember the old gas station shack that was on the north-west corner. Too bad pictures don't exist.

Well there is a LOT of stuff on Huntsville Revisited, but as of yet, not much has been posted of old Madison.

The old grocery store that was on the corner where BP is now was in a small red brick building and was named Goodman's Grocery. Believe an older woman ran the place. Right next door to that building was a white wood-framed building that housed Christian Brother's Painters and a couple of other businesses over the years. I also remember the fruit/vegetable stand that was on the other side of the road and east of the OMP/Slaughter intersection. Seems like it burned down and never returned after the fire.

I hope they fix the bridge at wall-Trina , it needs some major work. that road is a mess in the morning and evening and gets just as much traffic as old Madison pike. I want to see them get busy fixing it all. they have the money , so they need to get it done.

On County Line Road, does the median lane not count as 5 lanes already? I'm confused about what it may look like when it's done.
