I've never been, but I am a contributing artist for the painted rain barrel auction, so my husband and I will be there. I am very intrigued and am looking forward to the event. In fact, one of my motivations for painting a rain barrel - aside from enjoying painting and wanting to support the Alabama Land Trust, was the promise of tickets for my husband and I to this very neat-sounding event. In case you decide to go, keep an eye out for my barrel! It's the one with the illustration depicting the Haida raven creation myth about the sun, moon, and stars. (All the barrels have a moon theme somehow worked in.)

Just FYI... I attended a lovely sponsor & artist appreciation event this evening and the word is that tickets are almost sold out.

Will I see you there, Reactionary?

It's a great event and I love the Land Trust, but not this year.

Have you ever seen Three Caves?

I have not! I joined the Huntsville Art League a few months back and heard about the call for artists through them. I've enjoyed the Alabama Land Trust trails so I thought it would be well worth my time to support them by painting a rain barrel. In exchange for donating my time I was given two tickets. The husband and I are very much looking forward to the event, especially after hearing everyone tell us about it in greater detail at the reception. My husband and I have a *thing* for caves. We've visited several - even though this is a quarry, it sounds awesome.

Let us know your impressions after the event. Most people don't even know the caves exist.

It is a fundraiser for a VERY WORTHY CAUSE!!!!! Worth every cent! Huntsville is so blessed to have such a group that helps provide greenspace for all to enjoy. I wish the whole state was more action and conservation leaning as the Huntsville area.
