$200 a year?

I'm paying $241 per quarter. Which is what I would expect considering this is insurance on a house. Then again, mine will replace anything that gets damaged on their watch and there are the little green things in the yard with wood in them as monitors that are checked quarterly.

I can't imagine any company that charges $200 a year for a termite bond to be a real, legit company.

(Though, eh, what do I know?)

Waynes charges me $75/quarter for Sentricon system (what you have) and a $1 million dollar repair/replacement coverage.....I've never heard of one so expensive unless you have other pest control (spraying, rodent, lawn) in with that.

Most of the companies are going to be around that $200/year mark or $75/quarter as Sentricon systems typically cost a bit more since they are checking them quarterly.

I have Waynes and its 200 bucks a year. From what I gather, they or someone treated the lumber during the building process. Its 200 a year for inspection after that. After several years though that treatment is no longer good and they have to do something else (I'm guessing sentricon).

Kirkland's controlled the initial retreat bond with the builder when the house was built, but we upgraded to the repair bond and it jumped from like $125/year to $200/year + the install cost mentioned above. I think it is checked yearly as it is the Termidor, not quarterly like the Sentricon and includes $1 million in repair coverage. $241/quarter sounds high unless you have other pest control services.

Well, I guess I need to ask my wife what the $241 per quarter is for, and if that's all it is, then forget that crap.

Sounds good, and one more reason to look forward to retiring in Madison. We currently pay $125/quarter to Waynes for the same system and coverage. I'm not a big fan of Waynes but haven't changed because the cost to start over with a new company is so high here.

Do builders offer any choice for termite bonds or do they negotiate a deal with one company to do all of their new houses?

No, they negotiate a deal with one company and use them. Most use Wayne's. Stoneridge is using Kirklands, and Ken McDaniels used them too.

We had Wayne's at our last house which was a Woodland Home and that was the company Woodland Homes used. But they put a Sentricon system in at the beginning. Termite Treatment | Termite Control | Termite Bait | Sentricon

Wife says with Cooks we pay $117.95 quarterly. So I didn't know what I was talking about. That said, I might want to switch, or does it cost $1k or so to switch (which might be the reason I'm paying more.)
