We stopped once in Valdosta and found one place, but their peanuts were bad. Everything else down that interstate was the Peanut Patch varety. Meh.

I know just the place you're talking about! The boiled peanuts are so good because they just stay simmering for days (cast iron caldron? can't remember). Next time you're there, try their fried peanuts, too. Yummy!

Do you remember specifics about location? I am going to Cherokee end of August and would love to try them.

Behind the Tom Thumb store at the caution light in Molino, FL (US 29) there's always a roadside boiled peanut stand.

On Tsali Blvd (441), east side of the road as you're going into town, about a half-mile north of the Museum of the Cherokee Indian. There'll be a sign right on the road advertising boiled peanuts...they also have pottery, gourds, fruit, etc.

I have heard different things about growing peanuts here. Has anyone done it and do you have recommendations?

On my way down to the Iron Bowl a few years back (Auburn beat Bama for the 6th straight time(WDE)), I stopped at this abandoned lot where this couple was selling boiled peanuts. I was shocked at how wonderful they were. Always wanted to get some again but never saw them around.

Those are always the best places for boiled peanuts.
