- We got an order of cheesy bread, a couple drinks and a large pizza. That was just about $36, added a 20% tip.
Joe's is in Woodville, actually between Paint Rock and Woodville. We get a large plus a couple drinks, add a $5 tip for Mary, Ashley or one of the other girls and we've blown $18 :-)

I am with you on that 100%, Tammy. It was more like Calif Pizza Kitchen, not a traditional pie. I want Italian sausage and cheese (not those little sausage discs!), but you can't get that at Tortura's.

I usually get a meatball at tortora's and my son will get a Pepperoni. Never noticed they don't have Italian sausage to be honest.
Tortora's is New Haven style pizza (only without the brick ovens), which slightly different than NY Style. Its not quite Italy, but its pretty close.
I need to find Woodville, so I can find Joe's.

Sounds pretty easy. I've been meaning to go to unclaimed baggage, so would be a nice day - treasures and pizza.

Go to Pane e vino!!! GREAT PIZZA. Located at the Art museum on the bottom floor facing the duck pond. Best pizza ever!! Fresh produce and everything is made right there! A hidden jewel in Huntsville for sure.

It is very good, but if they think Tortora's is "California Pizza Kitchen" - they will surely think that of Pané e vino.

It is possible that it was my expectations.
I went in thinking I was going to get a good "basic" pizza.
Instead I was struggling to figure out what to order, I finally settled on something...still not what I was craving and thinking I was going to get when I walked in. Then the bill came $35 ish for just the kids and I. So now not only was my craving not satisfied, my wallet was lighter.
Keep in mind I spent the last year in Chicago, no pizza will be good enough until I get desperate
Same with european food, my uncle is from Poland and seems to know of the best hole in the wall European restaurants in Chicago.
Not saying it is bad, just not what I was expecting.

After living in Connecticut, the pizza capital of the country (over 7,000 independent pizza places and around 3 million people) I did some pretty extensive sampling. Tortora's meatball is one of the top 10 pizzas I've had. I've also been lucky to travel to Europe a few times and do some "sampling" over there and some US travel.
Heck I had a pizza ratings website for two years
Heck it might be top 5.

I know it's all personal opinion -and occasionally I do like CA Pizza Kitchen- but I prefer a more traditional sausage & cheese pizza, which you just can't get at Tortura's. My wife loved her veggie half, but if I can't regular sausage I'm just not all that interested.
Have you ever tried Riverside Pizzeria in Iron River, MI? That is my #1. Some Guys in Indianapolis is #2, or perhaps it's tied with Joe's Pizza. There is a little place in the CA Sierra Mtns that makes something called "Death By Garlic" which is just fantastic. In Milwaukee it was "Pete's - Milwaukee's King of Pizza!"
I love it when a pizzeria is next door to a bowling alley. It just makes it all that much more 'real'. :-)
