I can understand. I'm a big fan of Canadian Bacon and Pepperoni combo, but its hard to find (impossible in Connecticut).
I've missed the first two but I have had pizza in Milwaukee. It could have been Pete's, my host said it was the best in town and it was very, very good.
I've had Grimaldi's, John's, and a few different Ray's "Famous", Original, Famous Original... I've had Sally's, Pepe's, Amato's, Modern, Zuppardi's, and a few others in New Haven.
I've had all of the big places in Hartford. I've had Pizzaria Reggina in Boston, plus Willington Pizza's famous Potato pizza (very good).
I've had pizza in Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, NY, Rhode Island, New Jersey, PA (Philly, Hanover, and Pittsburgh), Columbus, Ohio, Chicago, Louisville, Atlanta, Miami, New Orleans (hometown), Seattle, Phoenix, Denver (Beau Joe's), Nashville, Cincinnati, Orlando, Baton Rouge, Houston, Dallas and I'm sure I'm leaving out a few.

My family and I love Imo's Pizza in St Louis - their claim to uniqueness is the very thin crust and Provel® cheese. It's not for everyone, but we like it.

That's one I forgot about. My buddy loves it and took me there, it wasn't for me - but he devoured it.
As they say, to each his own.

I think my all time favorite Italian sausage substitute was in Vancouver, it was sliced breakfast links...with the consistency of hot dogs. That was awful.
During lent we went to Sam and Greg's, I loved it. We had a feta, garlic, and olive pizza. However that time I was expecting that. I also loved the atmosphere.
What can I say, I grew up on Chicago cheese and sausage and old habits die hard.

OMG--I love Imo's and the Provel. Hubby and I were just talking about it the other day. Haven't been to St. Louis in a few years.

We went to Tortora's again on Friday night and I thought I'd mix it up and get a calzone. I had the New Yorker (filled w/ meatballs, garlic, mozzarella and Ricotta) and it was amazing. This was the first evening we had to wait for a table (about 10 minutes), but service was great as usual. IMO, it is well worth the drive from Madison.

Can you find this locally? It's probably one of my favorite combos, but I've had a hard time finding it since I left the Pacific Northwest years ago.
Probably the three best places I've had pizza was in San Francisco (no surprise--they have sooooo many great restaurants), Nashville (surprise--at a place called Scirocco's--near Vanderbilt for years and years, but is gone now), and at (don't laugh) Spokane. There was a local place in Spokane and Cheney, WA called The Savage House that was fantastic...and uber popular during the '70s.

I think Village Pizza or Mellow Mushroom have Canadian Bacon. Brooklyn Pizza in Metairie (burb or New Orleans) or New York Pizza in New Orleans, both have it.

Thanks. I guess I missed it at MM. It's a shame you can name a couple of places in a city a day's drive away, but only one place locally! Shoot, I don't think I saw a single pizza joint in the Pacific Northwest that didn't have canadian bacon. Ya think Canada's proximity had anything to do with it?
I'll have to look those places up next time I'm in the NO area. Both those places are post-Katrina?

I'm pretty sure CB is a staple for New Orleans pizza as well. We couldn't find it in New England except at Pizzaria Reggina's in Boston.
Both are open now and ready to sample in New Orleans. As for here, must be Village that has CB.
