Anyone here know about how much to tip those bicycle taxis at Bridgestreet? I know they don't charge and run off of tips and personally, I would walk but I will be going with my daughter and an out of state guest tomorrow and daughter has injured a knee so I figure by the time we've made our way to the far end, a taxi back to the parking lot would be a good idea. I do have a tendency to overtip on a lot of things but someone mentioned to me that they saw some of the tips some were getting and decided to walk with their cane instead, lol. So, I have absolutely no idea whatsoever of a proper amount for something like that.

i may be way off and am interested in what others suggest, but I would think a dollar or two per person would be acceptable. It's not a really long haul (3-4 minutes, max?) and they have the possibility of making several runs per hour on a good day. There will always be some who tip more because they can and some who only have pocket change. I guess I won't get to ride them. I seldom carry "folding money" around with me.

Tip them $5. If you get the stink eye, then up it a little next time.

I say lets just pay them 15 dollars an hour and let them unionize and forget the tips.

For a 3 minute ride at a rate of $15, you should pay 75 cents. If they pop a wheely, I'd give em an extra nickel.

I thought they were being paid by Bridge Street while parking is limited; if so, I don't see the need for any tip. Am I mistaken?

Don't know. Every time I've seen someone get out they were passing $$ to them.. I just couldn't tell how much.

Actually, that's the figure I was thinking of without anything to go on.
