Land doesn't mean growth. It just means land. Huntsville's road infrastructure can barely handle its current population. Police, Fire, Emergency Services, and Huntsville Hospital are barely keeping up. If the leaders want Huntsville to grow, the infrastructure has to be improved at all levels.

Huntsville's still stuck on the "ANNEX ANNEX ANNEX" solution for growth - and it's not sustainable in the long run. Being sprawled out over two counties might make the population numbers look good, but it can't be good for services and future growth.

Birmingham's in a better position to enjoy sustainable growth simply because it has to use what it already has on hand in a highly creative fashion.
