Greenville definitely doesn't have the GS job opportunities, but If Donaldson Air Force Base had remained open I imagine it would have been a whole 'nother ball game.

IMHO, Greenville's downtown, interstate access, and proximity to the Blue Ridge Mountains make it a highly desirable location.

I really loved the downtown area. So bustling, musicians, great food. Could spend the whole day walking around there and not get in all the places.
I'm glad to hear that Hsv is taking some cues from Greenville.
I will say, Huntsville downtown is at this time the best it's been since I moved to Bama in '76. It was just dead for so many yrs. Although, now that I'm ... ahem... much older ... it's not so important to me these days. I'd really like to see more shopping places open up. Love me some downtown boutiques.

Not to mention the two parks adjacent to downtown (one actually in the downtown area). There is so much to see in downtown Greenville - places like Mast General Store and Michelin on Main.

Then, there's the shopping area on the outskirts of town - where you'll find Dave & Buster's, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe's.
