Anybody know why their gas prices are significantly higher than anybody else in the area? I'm not talking about 10-15 cents different, we're talking FIFTY cents higher. I drove by yesterday and their sign said $2.71 a gallon; typical price in the area is closer to $2.20. Amazingly, several people were getting gas there.

This the the one near the end of Whiteburg, near the Parkway overpass.

They don't use ethanol. They probably use pure gasoline.

Blending with ethanol brings down the price.

Pure gasoline in most places runs almost $1/gal more.

I know of one or two other places with similar prices to FC....

There's a limit to how much more they can charge than the average price in the area. I want to say 10-15% is the limit but I honestly don't recall. Anything over that and they can be reported to the state for price gouging.

That's only in effect during a state of emergency.

I bet it's the no ethanol thing. I got burned by one on Old Madison Pike where I didn't look close and it was $3.25 a gallon and not $2.25 a gallon. I notice after about 5 gallons. Stupid me.

Raceway in meridianville sells ethanol free for 2.75. It runs 60 to 70 cents more.
