Re= Cherokee Ridge.... Yes, you can get a very nice home there at a better price than Huntsville but, you will not be getting that home town "Mayberry" feel there. Just not the same.

True, it's not Mayberry ... far from it. The town of Arab would come closer to that description, but even it is fairly modern. I honestly can't think of a real Mayberry-type town in the area.

Most of the houses in Cherokee Ridge are quite large and extremely well landscaped. And they are a true bargain if you want to live 30 or so miles out of central Huntsville.

Hi everybody, my name is Art and I'm from California. I was stationed in clarksville Tennessee when I was in the Army and I fell in love with the south. My son and his family live in Huntsville and I want to move closer to them so I can be involved in my granddaughters life more. It's just me and my dogs, so I'm thinking about buying a place with some land. I've always liked the mountains here in California. So I'm not a lover of " big city" atmosphere. I'm hoping to fit in and just be a quiet citizen of Arab. Will I be accepted ? Only time will tell I guess, but I hope so... I really like small town life.

I know of three families and two co-workers who live in Arab and the its surrounds. All are very nice. I personally do not know much about Arab. If your granddaughters play softball then I could recommend a good softball organization in the area.

Yes, you will be accepted. My niece and her family moved there recently after her husband retired from the military, and they've lived all over the world. They love it and have become very active in the community.
