Just got back from eating lunch at Gibson's BBQ in Decatur. As much as I trash them, today the Q was ON!! SOOO good....the only thing bad was that there was no room for coconut pie!

My buddies and I ate there several months ago. You get an amazing amount of food for cheap. The sweet tea (bottomless cup) is excellent.

The other place that is really neat is the Old Greenbrier place sort of NW of the HSV airport. (The locals probably already know all this but it's worth mentioning for guys like me who travel to HSV often.)

Charles, you need to try McCollum's in Decatur for catfish. Personally, I hate fish, and I don't eat it there or anywhere! BUT their hush puppies are deee-vine!

I also went there today. I was there at 11:00. I love their stuffed baked potatoes, but this one did not taste as good as usual. Maybe I have gotten use to Lawlers ham stuffed potatoe.

I like McCollum's, but Catfish cabin in Athens has the best hush puppies in the world.

I have not had their fish and hush puppies in years. Had a cheese burger last time and it was good. I will try their fish and hush puppies next time I eat lunch in Decatur. I know they have a very good reputation. Very odd I have not been to Decatur in Months and we both ate lunch at the same place. I sure like to carry one of those tropies home.
