Did anyone else see this? We were getting out of a movie at about that time. Doesn't say which parking lot, but that doesn't really matter. I go over there frequently to run errands around lunch time. I sure hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

"A sign of things to come?" Do you not realize this has been happening since Bridgestreet opened? Seems like last year a guy got the snot beat out of him when he tried to fight off a mugger that was trying to take his wife/girlfriends purse or something like that.

Don't ever ever park in the lower parking deck of the parking area in the front. There have been who knows how many muggings and attacks down there.

Unfortunately, this kind of purse snatching could happen in any store parking lot anywhere. I would think Bridge Street has more daytime traffic in the parking lots than a lot of stores, thus would usually be a safer place. But desperate druggies aren't the smartest people in the world.

This is the first time I've seen it in the news, and the fact that it was middle of the day. And the story just said "parking lot", so I assume that to be one of the open parking lots, not the new parking deck or the lower level of the front parking lot. So by "sign of things to come" I meant "middle of the day in parking lot" incidents.

I realize it can happy anywhere at any time, but I hope it doesn't become a regular occurrence at BS.

Article didn't say, but hopefully she got a good look at him and/or the incident was captured on a security camera.

Article hasn't said anything....age, height, build, clothing, white/black/etc.

This article provides a very brief description of the perp.
Woman punched in the face, robbed at Huntsville's Bridge Street Town Centre | AL.com
I feel really badly for the woman who was assaulted like this. Going to be more situationally aware from now on. Personally, I've had people approach me in the lower parking deck of Parkway Mall (early evening), outside of Embassy Suites (bright daylight) and at the new Campus 805 (least surprising of the 3).

yes, that description is so helpful.

Can someone please elaborate in WHICH parking area this occurred?

HSV PD needs to step up patrolling in the retail areas. I've seen an increase in vagrants with their signs around the Target shopping center on university, and the red light @ University & Burlington Coat Factory/Zaxby's, etc. And the Fairfield Inn on Enterprise (behind 5 Guys & Jason's Deli) had an armed robbery last night. Sometimes I feel like all the crap that happens further East on University is creeping its way West.

Maybe call Bridge Street and ask which parking lot it was?
