Double Springs (Haleyville: house, tax, store)

I stayed with a friend of the family in Double Springs one Summer as a teen. My Father's (Tom Sprowl) friend was named Ves Ellenburg. I've been trying to locate that farm on Google maps for better than a year without success. Is there someone on this forum that can point me to the location of the Ellenburg farm, the road it was on, or even the address?

The gentleman (landowner) has been deceased for better than 15 years now, so I don't think that will help me.

The only Ellenberg listed in the tax auditor's website for Winston County, Al (where Double Springs is) is a Raimey and Anna Ellenburg, their parcel location is 2463 County Road 30, Haleyville, Al ; and they have an alternate mailing address of 628 Brown Rd, Double Springs Al- I'd try both of those locations on Google Maps and see if they look familiar.

You might also try contacting them, they are hopefully knowledgeable about the gentleman you're seeking (Ves Ellenburg)

Thanks, the Cty Rd 30 address looks very similar. The driveway to the house is the same, though the house looks as if it may have been built on, and a small store nearer the road is gone The topography south of 30 on the farmland doesn't match what I remember though.

I'm looking for something from 35 years ago. A lot could have changed.
