I believe that it is the most recent. It seems that either the current theater will relocate, or a new branded theater will come in.

Nice find! Assuming it's legit, a 21 May 2018 date is a very recent update. The REI rumors definitely look legit. And as I speculated, the movie theater might move to a new location within MidCity to get the amphitheater where they want it.

An 8,500 seat outdoor amphitheater would open up Huntsville to a whole new market of big time acts, correct?

One would think, yes. It's bigger than the two in Nashville that I found by a fair amount (6500 and 4500 capacity) and they certainly have big groups coming. Of course, Nashville and Huntsville can't really be compared regarding music, but having a venue such as this could be quite a good thing.

I read a news article this morning that the Publix on Zierdt Rd is scheduled to open on 11 July.

For some time, we've heard about Huntsville trying to land (pun intended) the Sierra Nevada Dream Chaser at HSV International. There's been some internet chatter lately about it (Why Does Sierra Nevada Want To Land Dream Chaser in Alabama? - NASA Watch). On the June 26th HSV Planning Commission agenda, there was a line item to discuss the following:

"HUNTSVILLE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT SIERRA NEVADA HANGER AH3 (#887)"

Does anyone think this has anything to do with the spacecraft possibly making it's landing destination as HSV?

If it's a new branded theater, I hope the current owners get their pay day. They've done and amazing job with that old building.

It does, HSV is way ahead of other locations that are being considered, this is part of that. HSV has been approved as a possible landing site for the mini shuttles.

Sweet Pea's restaurant is opening up a 2nd location at the old vacated Captain D's on Governor's Drive, west of the Huntsville Hospital campus. It's an "express" restaurant.
