Don't know if it would lend itself to being a small boutique hotel or apartments.
A museum might not be a bad thing ... just leave those old benches and open it up for people to see how things used to be. It's a really nice old building, on the small size but built in the style of old US Post Offices.

The Frist Art Museum in Nashville now occupies their old, much larger post office building. We already have an art museum, so it's not needed for that nor is it large enough, but a small museum would be nice. I grew up in Meridian, Mississippi, and their main post office looks much like the one here and the Frist, and it's still used as the downtown post office there.

Sometimes the main post office in a city is combined with the federal courthouse. I wonder if the new courthouse here will contain the main post office? The PO on Clinton is quite small and most likely technologically antiquated, and the property could be used for something else, VBC-oriented.

This would seem like a great spot for an entrepreneurial incubator workspace. It's perfectly located to downtown amenities, has some history, etc.

That's a pretty extensive list for one year and a lot of work for the city to undertake. Sounds good though.

Did I miss the expansion to six lanes of University Drive/Hwy 72 West (I suppose that's in Madison, not Huntsville though)?

Do you know if 565 widening or whatever has been moved forward, or is it still years out? The only thing I know of that's happening is the re-do of the Greenbrier interchange. But 6 lanes from CL Rd to I-65 is needed, with 8 lanes from just west of Research Pk Blvd to County Line Rd on my wish list too.

Any mention of reworking the Parkway/565 interchange? I would guess that would be on the order of the work currently underway in Birmingham and would carry a significant price tag.

Thanks for the info. It's disappointing Research Park BLVD is only a repave and not being expanded to three lanes on each side, among 565 and the interchanges. Gotta love ALDONT
