The Madison store has been gone for a while. Closed not long after 2nd & Charles opened,

Look for the apartment portion (Phase 2) at City Centre to begin soon, (June maybe). They will be located immediately east and south east of the AC Hotel. Looking like a 4-5 floor structure with a parking garage.
Meanwhile the crane is up a few blocks over at Huntsville Hospitals new tower under construction.
There will also be a crane going up at the site of the downtown Curio Hilton on Jefferson St.

Out at Town Madison and the new Madison Trash Pandas Stadium

Town Madison described its plan for the food hall, which will be connected to the stadium designed by Smallwood Reynolds:
  • 18 kitchens curated by local and regional chefs.
  • Two breweries.
  • Several stationary food trucks in an outdoor dining area.
  • A large outdoor event space and covered stage area designed for a variety of events from local bands, songwriter showcases, and showing sporting events on the big screen.
Construction on the food hall is expected to begin in the summer.

Good to see something other than hotels and apartments, thanks for this bit of news! Hopefully this is the beginning of more retail and restaurant announcements.

I wonder if the food hall will be active only during events at the stadium or if it will be open throughout the week like Pizitz?

Edit: Question answered. Didn't see a link the the article https://www.al.com/news/2019/05/town...s-stadium.html

It would be nice if it was open all of the time like the Braves and Cardinals have setup around their stadiums.

“Along with the (Rocket City) Trash Pandas stadium, the Food Hall and plaza area will become the place to be before a game or any time people want to meet with friends and share new experiences.”

Separately, there is this quote in one of the numerous al.com articles on the Trash Pandas:

On the eastern end up to Zierdt Road – another seemingly endless construction project that Ceci said is expected to be completed by next April

Zierdt road finished within year - that would be a true miracle!

Once they got started on the project again, they've really been working hard. They've been installing drainage at the Madison Blvd for several weeks now ... it must be elaborate. Looks to me like they will have to move a couple of utility poles before the intersection can be completed.

All that looks really nice. Looks to be a lot more than the Joe Davis Stadium area, which was basically sitting alone. The Pandas stadium will be totally different.

Haven't heard anything on the interchange progress ... it doesn't appear that a lot has been done.
