Update: The Madison Planning Commission's Staff Report from 1/19/2017 indicates this will be a 17,250 sq. ft. shopping center with up to 11 suites, though it is expected some suites can and will be combined to accommodate tenants needing more space. The building has been designed to allow for a drive-up window on each end. 92 total parking spaces.

Default Barrels

So when are all those orange barrels going to be removed from County Line Road? This is supposed to be finished. Are they just leaving them to generate money for speeding tickets in a construction zone?

No. At the last council meeting, 1/23, it was noted that the contractor is completing punch list "fixes" and when that is done, the barrels will be removed.

Some info on this blog post. Basically final inspection has happened, but there are things to "fix" before complete. I noticed they've been installing those tactile strips at crosswalks lately.

The Phoenix in Madison of Huntsville is a pretty big senior living facility (150 beds) that will start construction in 2017. This might be a 3-story structure. I think this is going near JCHS in County Line, but I am not positive. Looks like it will surround the Shipping Center Group's parcel of land to the south of the JCHS entrance.

CONFIRMED that this is the plan. A simple Google search produced a plan sheet. Here are the details:

Max Stories: (3)
Number of Units: 192; 150 single bedroom units, 42 double-bedroom units. Of those 192 units, 120 designated Independent Living, 48 Assisted Living, 24 Alzheimer Care units.
133 parking spaces
Square Footage: 218,499 SF
Total Area of project: 14.659 AC
Total Project Areas to be Developed: 10.278 AC

NOTE: LOT 2 (the area that appears to be graded and prepped right now, right next to the JCHS "driveway") is separate from this project.

AWESOME!!! Another strip mall. You just can't have too many nail spas, mattress shops, and dry cleaners.

Agreed. Maybe...just maybe...some restaurants will come onboard. Construction is tentatively slated to begin within a month.
