Was planning to take my Mom (visiting from socal) up to Huntsville today but I just checked the weather forcast. It's suppose to be stormy today.
Namely, I had planned to take her to the US Space & Rocket Center but did want to go on a little tour of the area.

Has it started to rain there yet? Can Huntsville still be enjoyed in the rain? I'm trying to decide if it's a good idea to make the trip if it's going to be ugly up there today.

Socal2Bham - "torrential" rains and tornado warnings (Limestone County - Athens - I65). By the time you get here, that storm will have passed, but we're expecting another this afternoon. You might have a window of calm.

Much of the Space Center is indoors, just a few exhibits outdoors (and kiddy rides), and the new rocket garage is open...

It's pretty calm here on the other side of 65 and south-ish. Some nice beneficial rain and distant thunder is all, and we had a little heavy for a bit when the squall line passed. The radar map looks like the worst has passed over Huntsville by now.

It's fairly warm today and (at least down here) not windy at all. As rainy days go, it's pretty pleasant. You have probably decided already, but if not, NOAA sez:
A SECOND WAVE OF LOW PRESSURE WILL RIDE ALONG THE TRAILING COLD
FRONT AND MOVE THROUGH THE CENTRAL TENNESSEE VALLEY THIS AFTERNOON.
SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT IS POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON
ESPECIALLY IN SOUTHERN AND EASTERN PORTIONS OF THE
AREA...PRIMARILY EAST OF THE I-65 CORRIDOR. LARGE HAIL...DAMAGING
WIND GUSTS...AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE TO BE THE
PRIMARY WEATHER THREATS THROUGH THE AFTERNOON.
