Default residences/aprtements close redstone arsenal

Hi to everyone

I'm Ezio and I'm going to relocate in HSV on July 2008 with my family (wife and two children).

While I'll find a new rent house I would like to stay with my family in a residence or apartement for 2 o 3 months, meanwhile I'll find the right sistemation.

Have you some good proposal.

Best regards

Ezio VECCHI

Hi MIke

I don't know the real differences from apartament and rental home, but I would like a single apartement and if possible with private garden.
If it is in a residence organized with pool tennis football wil be ok.
My range price is 0 to 1200 dollars amx evrything included.

For minimum one month to three months. It dipend how many time I will find the definitive apartement.

Ezio, here is a thread about apartments.

HSV Apartments

Apartments here usually have 2 to 3 bedrooms, 1 to 2 bathrooms, living room, dining area, kitchen, clothes washer / dryer, balcony / patio (usually not private garden). The apartments usually are in a common development of say 200+ units. There are usually eight units in each building. The apartment complex may have amenities such as a swimming pool, clubhouse, and tennis courts.

Single family home rentals (like I referred to in another thread) are usually houses with yards, 3 to 5 BR (1800 to 4000 square feet), etc. You need to ask about clothes washer and dryer (some only offer connections). You are responsible for the yardwork.

Utilities (natural gas, electricity, water, garbage, sewer) are arranged through 'Huntsville Utilities', ask the rental agent for an estimate of the monthly cost.

Hi Ezio,

Reactionary did a good job telling you the differences. You would probably be better off going with an apartment to stay under $1200 / mo. and they can be more flexible with a short lease. How many bedrooms would you need?

In the U.S., when you say "football" people think of American football. You probably mean what we call "soccer."
American football is very important in Alabama - we love it like Europeans love their soccer!
But there are a lot of soccer fields, also, in this area. Just call it soccer in the U.S., and everyone will know what you're talking about!

HI Mike

I need 1 master bedroom and 1 or two rooms for my two children.

The area that I would like to go is Madison close to RSA.

I would suggest Windscape Apartments on Royal drive in Madison. It is off of Sullivan street and easy access to the RSA. They have short term leases.

Ezio,
you say you are moving here in July. Something to consider, depending on the age of your children, is that school starts here in the first part of August. If they are school age you might want to look for a temporary apartment in the same school district that you are considering living in. Depending on where you move in Madison it will take you about 15 minutes to get to RSA. Something else to think about, will you be sharing a car with your wife? Public transportation here is not like Europe. You have to drive to get places. If you are military, Redstone Arsenal has a lodge(hotel) and you might consider staying there, while you look for a place to live instead of a temporary apartment.

You have to be careful with the lodge. They will bump you at the last minute if someone from a school comes in to town needing a room.

We elected to find a rental the first year in the school district that we hope to buy in.
