Ok...I sent an email to the main headquarters and got a friendly reply back...that they are not currently looking to open here.
If you have never eaten there, you're probably thinking "so what!?". Don't let the McD association fool you, it has nothing in common with greasy, horrible grub. If you have eaten there, you probably understand why I wish so desperately for them to open here. The closest one is in Birmingham. This is not like your Rosie's or anything else I've sampled here so far...different animal. So, guys, if you would take 5 minutes and fire off an email expressing an interest, perhaps they'll realize that more than 2 people in Huntsville would buy lunch there. Chipotle: Gourmet Burritos and Tacos Thank you for your support. ![]() |

LOL...I don't live in Alabama, but as a fellow Chipotle addict, I can sympathize! I lived out in Colorado when they were first starting to expand out of Denver and have since moved to northern Minnesota. Our nearest Chipotle is over 3 hours away in the Twin Cities. I know the town I currently live in is probably too small, but I also emailed them hoping they might open one in (nearby) Duluth soon...got the same reply as you.

I used to live across the street from one and within walking distance of a couple dozen restaurants. A lot of nights when I got home and didn't want to cook it was always Chipotle that called my name. A burrito bol with Neiman Ranch pork and perfect traditional black beans... yum.

I think we have a Moe's Southwest Grill place, and that's about as close to Chipotle as I've found.
Heck, I need to visit that place this week. |

Hey, 33458, this is the reply I got today:
"Hello Soutlander, Thank you for writing us. We appreciate your suggestion for the town of Huntsville. I will pass along your recommendation to the people that make those decisions. Have a great day. Sincerely, Ken Marley Chipotle" |

That food looks very similar to Baja Fresh in California. And if it is, oh yeah. Good stuff.

I love Chipotle, but I miss Baja Fresh! I have to drive down to the Miami area to get it which is 2-3 hours... There are 13 Chipotles here, you want to borrow one?

Why won't they open here? I tell ya why! They are afraid of Bandito Burrito Company, that's why! Why move into the market when they will move down the road, quickly, after being slaughtered by the Juan Big Dinner.
Example: Backyard Burger comes to town full of swagger. A year or two later, they leave in the quiet of the night, like the Baltimore Colts in a Mayflower moving van, after getting their hat handed to them by Soul Burger! Lesson to big, bad out of town eateries: When you come to the Rocket City, you better bring your A game! Huntsvegas diners play hard and they play for keeps! |

Tell me more about this Bandito Burrito Company
![]() What happened to Copeland's? That spot of the Parkway seems like a bad location to me, but its been pretty successful in most places. |
