Thanks. That does indeed look a lot better. I notice there will be two turn lanes from Madison Blvd westbound to Zierdt Rd southbound. That is much needed and will help traffic flow on Madison Blvd considerably. Hopefully those turn lanes are considerably longer than the single one is now.

Any idea how the new interchange construction is progressing? I haven't seen much being done lately.

Town Madison / 565 interchange? The foundation for the eastbound egress ramp is largely done. The focus the past few weeks has been on the eastbound ingress ramp. Still no bid solicitation for the westbound ramps as of yet.

So work is continuing at the Martin Rd intersection (we're at Phase III-A step 2 of the above schedule)...but has anyone else noticed the "new" lanes of Zierdt have been under Lady Ann Lake for a good portion of the last week? Hello more delays!

Yep. Hopefully they get it resolved sooner rather than later. I submitted a SeeClickFix report just to give them a heads up. Their response...

Just remember, if huntsville has anything to do with it, and it benefits Madison, expect huntsville to do as little as possible in as much time as possible.

Yes, I did notice that. I'm not sure the water came from Lady Ann Lake (maybe have been from the "wetland" on the east side), but there was a stretch of maybe a couple hundred feet that was and may still be under water. All the concrete drain pipes that have been stacked up the entire length of Zierdt hopefully will solve that problem. I assume the drainage pipes will be in the median, but the curbs and water entrances are on the outside of the roadway. So who knows? Maybe Grumpy does.

Well, it also benefits Huntsville. There's what must be several thousand houses south of Edgewater that are in the Huntsville city limits, a middle school, apartments, and increasing retail.

That is false
Toyota Mazda is a great example of region wide cooperation.
Remember this if it wasn’t for Huntsville, Madison would not be experiencing its
growth. We all work together or it doesn’t work.

Pretty much all of Zierdt is Huntsville City though...

If not for Huntsville, Madison would still be a village of 2-3000 people with a train running through it and surrounded by cotton fields. It was essentially that when I first moved here.
