Default Wanting info on the rumored development on 72 over the mountain

So far I have heard about Target, Dillards, Belk, a Rave theater, and an Old Navy. It seems like everyone had heard different things about what's coming. Does anyone have reliable info?

Is the Chase area going to turn into another Jones Valley/Hampton Cove? If all of those businesses are actually coming, then I bet the realtors are eating that area up.

Huntsville is really kicking a lot of ass with these large mixed-use shopping center developments. I really haven't heard any development sprucing up on the mountain. I rarely take a drive up to Monte Sano so I guess that describes why I haven't heard about too much development going on in that part of the area. I hope the Times can be able to get some info on that pretty soon. It would be amazing if that development will be as big as the Harris Hill project or the Shoppes at River Bend project in Madison. Over the next few years, Huntsville will be a picturesque city coming down from the mountain with all of the large mixed-use centers scattered around town.

This is an unofficial site plan, which by the way the local developer is on record as saying this isn't his official plan
for the place, but it may be very close to whats planned.

None of the shops are official yet. A developer can put anything he wants on a site prospectus -- it only means that is the KIND of businesses they are trying to attract to lease retail space.

Technically I believe Harris Ranch (Hill?) is not a go yet -- but I doubt HSV would be spending all that money on the interchange right in front of it if it weren't going to happen.

Overall, yes, the NE area seems ready for lots of development in the next 5-10 years.
