Personally I have reservations of the idea for one simple reason; the intersection is heavily traveled by kids driving to JCHS. As others have pointed out, many don't know how to use or simply struggle with roundabouts. Throw in a bunch of 16-19 year old drivers;
JCHS has a roundabout in front of the school. Hopefully most of them have driven through it.

Well, the roundabout in front of the school isn't configured and signed properly. I discussed this at length with the assistant principal and school superintendent not long after the school opened and they chose to do nothing. I haven't been over to the school since my son graduated in May 2017, but I suspect it's still set up the same as it has been since 2013/14.

They have right turn only signs at the intersections. Not sure what other signs they could possibly add. IMHO, it is actually configured better than any other ones in town due to the large size where it isn't just a glorified 4-way stop.

For starters, there's a stop sign for traffic in the circle and stop signs for traffic entering the circle from the gymnasium side and from the theater side rather than yield signs. There's also no yield sign for traffic entering the circle from the County Line Road entrance. Traffic entering that way is allowed to enter the roundabout without yielding to traffic in the circle which runs counter to normal setup and can be dangerous if applied to other traffic circles/roundabouts. The stop sign in the circle means that traffic in the circle has to stop for cars entering from County Line road which is also counter to normal setup. The stops signs at the other two entrances make those entry points operate more like a traditional stop intersection than a roundabout entry.

Well, that's dumb. I walk through there all the time and have never paid much attention. Not really a traffic circle then.

Additionally, the majority of the students driving in enter through the back side entrance off of Burgreen..... So not much practice.
