Default LaCrosse Team, Swim Teams, Soccer

I have found Huntsville LaCrosse and Huntsville Swim Team information on the internet. Anyone have any kids (we have girls under 9) on these teams? Is there something positive about the team your kids are on that you'd like to mention? Anything you don't like?

Huntsville Lacrosse Association

Huntsville Swim Association Webpage

We will be analyzing these teams' web pages and most likely using convenience as the deciding factor. Convenience including location of practices and times of practices.

We found Brahan Nataorium and Brahan Park for lacrosse and swimming.

We're also working the web for soccer leagues. In LA, it's all AYSO. In Colorado Springs, there's like four or five different leagues - confusing.

Fall is the primary season for Club teams in Alabama, with Spring being the school season.

The Alabama Youth Soccer Association has set June 2-19, 2008 as the window for Tryouts for Fall 08-09 Season. Kicks, HSC, Valley, and others will post their specific tryout dates on their websites as time gets closer. You can find more information on Alabama youth soccer at:

Default more on Soccer

There are no boundaries for the soccer teams with regards to where you live.

For example, a resident of Hampton Cove is not limited to Kicks or HSC. A resident of Monrovia is not limited to AYSO Monrovia....etc... I say this, because there are sometimes boundary restrictions with other sports. On the Kicks teams, we have children from Cullman, Limestone County, and other areas outside of Madison County.

AYSO Huntsville teams primarily play at John Hunt Park, AYSO Madison at Palmer or Dublin Parks, AYSO Monrovia at school and church fields in Monrovia.

The Club teams will travel around the state for their state league games. When home, Kicks and HSC primarily play at Merrimack and John Hunt Parks, and Valley and Madison Shockers are at Dublin Park.

Default Parks and Pool

In today's HT there were mentions of building new pool at Hunt Park. Did anyone else find this odd as Hunt Park is only 1/2 mile south of the natatorium at Brahan Park?

"Another indoor swimming facility is also badly needed in Huntsville, perhaps at John Hunt Park, Patterson said."

The article also mentioned a Taylor Road Park. I see where Taylor Road is; Where would the park be on it (somewhere between Sutton and Terry Drake)?

I've played basketball and swam laps at Dublin Park. Very nice facility. It has an outdoor pool now too.

BRONZE in the 100 backstroke.
Later this week she competes in the 200 backstroke, and she is the favorite.
