My DD just graduated from college with a degree in Biology. What area companies might utilize someone with this degree? She has been busy applying and interviewing with some of the more known organizations, but is wondering if she has missed some.

Any helpful information would be appreciated!

Amgen in Thousand Oaks California, where I used to live. Very expensive to live and not a lot to do for a single twenty something. Very suburban family oriented community. So its good for work and bad for everything else.

The only thing I know of for sure would be the new Hudson Alpha Institute.
HudsonAlpha

There is also the Clearview Cancer Institute. It is a cancer treatment and research center, they may have research assistant type positions.
Welcome to Clearview Cancer Institute (http://www.ccihsv.com/ - broken link)

InternationaL Paper in Courtland
Inland Waters Pollution Control in Decatur
Wayne Farms in Decatur (Poultry processing)
Any firm that does water quality testing...any manufactuer that has to release effluent to either natural streams or to a water/sewage treatment plant...heck, even municipal water and sewage treatment plants.
Also, TVA at http://www.tva.gov/employment/index.htmng (broken link).
Also...hospitals...medical testing labs, which might require a slightly different degree, but you never know....any kind of waste treatment facility or business.
Good luck to her!
