I live nearby Slaughter / Old Madison Pike intersection and have been to a Alabama DOT plan meeting held a while back at the new Challenger High School discussing the road work upgrade of the bottleneck portion of Old Madison Pike towards Slaughter Rd intersection. I have traveled that section for now over 8 years. Not for certain when it will start. Has anyone heard any information on this? I also notice surveyor sticks around the SW corner of that same intersection (the old Wann property?) and south of Old Madison Pike towards Windstone Subdivision. Any info on what may be going up there?

Well, from the HSV city council meeting minutes web site I see that the property south of Old Madison Pike and west of Slaughter will have a new apartment complex, Bridgestreet Apartments and a new residential subdivison. My apologies for the Alabama DOT meeting location error. It was at the new Hsv Columbia High School and not Challenger. I did find more links referring to the road construction for the bottleneck on Old Madison Pike to Slaughter Road. I'll post the links when I get them together.
