Default VW looking at Limestone County site

Don't have time to get the links just yet, but its near 65.
Other options are in TN or Michigan. I don't see MI having a shot.

More info in the Alabama section of the forums as well.

al.com is reporting that the Wiregrass and Mobile areas are no longer being considered for the VW plant; however, the Limestone County site is still in the running.

New TIF may help lure VW plant

Bill would double Huntsville's abilityto use financial tool

MONTGOMERY - As a potential lure for a Volkswagen assembly plant, the Alabama Legislature is considering a bill that would permit Huntsville to more than double the amount of money that can be leveraged through Tax Increment Financing districts.

A Senate-passed bill cleared a House committee Wednesday and will be up for final passage by the full House on May 19 - the final day of the regular session. The TIF could be used as a financing tool to build roads, sewer and other needs for an industrial park. Huntsville used a TIF to help lure the Toyota engine plant.
