Default Opinions of Section, AL and Huntsville, AL please

Hello everyone! I have aging, ill parents in Section, AL, and am thinking about relocating to be near them if I should decide to make an exodus from Florida and all of its problems.

Can anyone please give me opinions of Section and Huntsville and the pros and cons of living in each place? I need to work (office) and would like lots of trees, reasonable housing costs, down to earth people, not too harsh winter weather, low crime rate, and neighbors I can know and trust. I prefer older, established (already built up) neighborhoods. Not interested in new developments.

Thank you, and Happy New Year everyone!

I moved from NY to Huntsville. Huntsville is great with lots to do. I think you'll like South east or south west huntsville, were there is barely any crime. Now if your looking for down to earth then thats North huntsville but thats where the crime is. So stick to South huntsville, people are great and you'll get that southern hospitality. The zip code for south huntsville is 35803 and 35802, that might help.

Huntsville AL or Chattanoga TN would seem more attractive areas for finding employment than Section, given its relative isolation. Either location should let you get to your parents home fairly quickly if the need arises. If they could live with the move (and you could handle having them with you), relocating to one household in or near Huntsville, which is booming, would seem the best option.

Huntsville; look into SE Huntsville. It's settled, close to everything and pretty with a mountain ridge on the east side.

I am going to move to Huntsville also. I visited there and was speaking to a Policeman there. You say North is where the crime is. I was told SE is where the crime is around Triana. I was also told SE was the BEST area or better yet Madison which is just west of Huntsville. Can someone please clarify this.

There is significant crime in SW Huntsville in certain areas clustered around Triana Boulevard and Patton Road as well. I don't know about Triana AL, since it's some ways from Huntsville. SE Huntsville is indeed safe, and most areas of Madison as well, or so I have been led to believe.
