Would the new Lee High School be expected to take pressure off Huntsville High School? What was the primary reason a new Lee High School will be built? Is the old one falling apart? Will the balance or school boundaries be affected? Is Lee High School replacing the old Lee High School? How is this going to work?

Alex, I'll take sports apparel for $400: Alabama or Auburn. A small scattering of Tennessee. Some Atlanta, especially Braves. Some Titans - we're about 2 hours from Nashville, but 4 to 4.5 hours from Atlanta. Professional sports - we have minor league hockey, baseball, arena football, women's professional football (yes) and women's roller derby. You'll see a little of everything, but mostly Alabama or Auburn.
Prevailing winds in Decatur are out of the southwest. I can't speak for Huntsville. |

For sports apparel
-- Alabama is huge in college football, so you will see plenty of Alabama and Auburn. Same way that North Carolina is huge in college basketball. For refrigerators being included with a home ? -- It is not customary when buying new to have the refrigerator. And most homeowners take their refrigerator when selling. Popular ornamental trees for homes? -- We favor Red Buds, Japanese Maples, and Weeping Cherry trees. Popular shade trees for homes? -- Maples, Cherry, Bradford Pear, Crepe Myrtle |

Popular ornamental trees for homes?
-- We favor Red Buds, Japanese Maples, and Weeping Cherry trees. Popular shade trees for homes? -- Maples, Cherry, Bradford Pear, Crepe Myrtle[/quote] Beware Bradford Pears...they have no central trunk and tend to splint when it's very windy. You can't beat 'em for spring blossoms, though...unless it's dogwood. Dogwoods are experiencing a disease in the SE. Pink dogwoods are especially hard-hit. I wouldn't call crape myrtle a shade tree, they're more of a tall shrub. The current fashion is to train them as trees...some have a tendency to grow that way. But most yearn to grow as shrubs and keep returning to shrub status. However, crape myrtles, which bloom from white to red from late June through August, are gorgeous in bloom, grow in any kind of soil, have orangey-red fall color and interesting bark in the winter. Oaks - all kinds - are good shade trees but grow slowly. Maples have gotten popular in the last 20 years and have added a lot of color to the Southern fall landscape. And we do love our azaleas! |

Thank You all for the responses....Bradford Pears...yep, had one in California, windy and then it split...great tree otherwise as it doesn't have aggressive roots, good for near hardscape (sidewalks, brickwork, etc.) that you don't want getting lifted and ruined by roots.

A close friend that lives off of Co. Line Road in Heritage Plantation was just telling me yesterday that she hears the military from her house. Both of our DH's were in Army Aviation and we've lived on aviation posts before, so we should be use to it, but she said it bothered her quite a bit. We live in Harvest and hear nothing. |

sorry...misunderstood your question. There is noise in that direction though from Redstone, FWIW.

That is pretty amazing. Looking at maps, Redstone Arsenal looks like it is five to ten miles away SE. I wonder what they were doing over there such that it could be heard on County Line. But whatever it is, I'd bet it isn't as regular as HSV commercial jets taking off north or landing landing south.
