Thanks for the pics! I really enjoyed them. It reminded me of the old days when I was skiing behind my grandparents' boat.

Did you have any BBQ?

Thanks for the suggestion on the seafood place. BTW, I was disappointed to see that Chicken Shack is no longer in business! For you locals who know what I'm talking about, The "jojo's" were great.

Penelopelp, I wish I had the time to get some BBQ. I always like to get Simmon's. This last visit was very short, with one full day a family gathering at a private home. Plenty to eat there as usual. I also wanted to make it over to Top O' the River, but when we pulled up, there were 50-60 people standing outside waiting! I remember going to the one in Gadsden area years ago and they were busy too, but it was a madhouse in Gville. Sure was craving some spicy greens and fried pickles.

Yeah, we used to pick up Simmon's on the way home after being out on the boat. Yum!

Default Relocating from Guntersville

Oh, these photos are just gorgeous! We ate at the lodge on Easter after church. It was wonderful! We are relocating to another state after living in Guntersville for years, and we will dearly miss it. The schools are wonderful, and the scenery is divine. My husband is being transferred, but we will certainly come back often to visit. If anyone is looking for a five bedroom house in Guntersville, check out MLS #270166. It is only four years old, and is on Wyeth Drive...a fantastic location. We have just listed our house reluctantly, but have taken a promotion in another state. We highly recommend Guntersville as a place to live and work if for no other reason than the schools and the lake....but there are a million more reasons!

They are having Will Rogers heritage festival this weekend. The park is right on the Lake.

Smile Lake Guntersville

We just returned from a business trip to Atlanta, and decided to check Guntersville out as a future retirement spot. We made two trips over during the week, and absolutely fell in love with the area. After almost 30 years of marriage, this is the first place that my husband and I both said - "This is it!" After growing up in South Alabama, I never thought I would return for retirement. But this is a totally different world! In fact, I am looking for a job in Huntsville right now!

Default Guntersville is the place!

I'm really glad that you found Guntersville. I found it back in February and was lucky enough to represent a new lakefront community here on the Lake. I have fallen in love with the place as it has everything one could want; mountains, a gorgeous lake, a really neat, quaint and historic town, and really nice residents. So, please join us as I am sure that you both will fall in love with the area as we all have!
